La Rentrée

September marks la Rentrée in France. After taking 5 week vacations, the French leave behind the slack and languor of summer and return en masse to school, jobs, neighbors and la vie quotidien, daily life.

Here in the US where long vacations are not the norm, it's a commercial event that begins in August with sales of any merchandise that can remotely be connected to back-to-school. Since I have a serious school supplies addiction, I have to admit to indulging in a few pen and glue purchases.

But this September I'm participating in the French spirit of Rentrée by returning to Paris and to the blog. Stay tuned.
